TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons Review (NEW Forgiving Irons for 2023)

TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons

TaylorMade Stealth HD irons are new for 2023 and the latest version of the game-changing irons. How do the high draw irons perform?

Released along with the Stealth 2 drivers, woods and rescues, the new irons don’t carry the monicker of being the second generation of the Stealths.

Instead, this is an adapted version of the irons with the Stealth HD following the same design elements of being a high draw model like versions of the driver, fairways and hybrids.

In this article we take a look at what the changes are from the Stealth, how the Stealth HD irons perform and if they should be on your radar for 2023.

What TaylorMade says about the Stealth HD irons:

“It’s not rocket science. Better shots equal better golf, lower scores and more fun. What golfer doesn’t want that?

“Stealth HD irons were engineered to be different, delivering high launching distance with draw bias to give you the confidence to expect better shots, more often.

“Designed for golfers looking to hit more successful shots more often, Stealth HD irons feature an ultra-low CG that progressively shifts it higher throughout the set for easier launch and playability in the long irons, while optimizing trajectory and spin in the scoring clubs.

“The performance shape is designed to maximize distance and forgiveness, including increased curvature on the sole for smooth turf interaction.

“Cap Back Design unlocked the next level of game improvement irons. Eclipsing the performance of traditional cavity backs, the multi-material construction promotes better forgiveness, distance and feel.

“A soft ECHO Damping System that is fully enclosed by the Cap Back Design stretches from heel to toe and absorbs unwanted vibrations, improving feel and maximizing face flexibility.”

TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons Specs & Design

TaylorMade have taken the design of the Stealth irons and given it a makeover to become the ideal options for players looking for even more forgivness.

The HD model is the High Draw and matches the same model in the new Stealth 2 drivers, woods and hybrids by offering high-launch with a draw bias.

TaylorMade have achieved that by altering the Cap Back Design to stretch from heel to toe in the cavity back irons to shift weight and lower the CG to levels never achieved before.

The result of the low center of gravity, who progressively shifts as you work through the irons, is the high launch, while the weighting reduces down the chances of fading or slicing your irons.

The new look sole and increased curvature helps maintain better ball striking across all conditions on the course and generate that high launch angle and trajectory.

The Stealth HD irons also feature a new ECHO Damping System inside the Cap Back Design to improve the face flex and feel of these irons compared to the Stealth.

Verdict: Are TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons any good?

Yes is the short answer. If you are in the market for game-improving irons that offer forgiveness, distance and feel in equal measure, then the Stealth HD is the one to look at.

The higher launch will suit a lot of golfers who struggle with their irons, but you shouldn’t lose too much distance with the new Stealths still long.

The forgiveness is the big selling point with this model compared to TaylorMade’s P Series of irons, for example. Expect much more consistency from these irons whether used from the fairway, tee box or rough.
