The 2024 Open Championship will take place between July 18-21 at Royal Troon in Scotland

The Open, which will once again be the last of the four majors of the year with the Claret Jug up for grabs on the west coast of Scotland.

Troon stages 152nd Open Championship and it will be 10th time the venue has staged the major.

Royal Troon will host the 152nd Open Championship. It will the 10th time the major has been played on Royal Liverpool links.

Troon first hosted The Open in 1923 and has been a circular on the rotation having also staged the tournament in 1950, 1962, 1973, 1982, 1989, 1997, 2004 and 2016.

The Open Claret Jug

Winners of the Open at Troon have been Arthur Havers, Bobby Locke, Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Watson, Mark Calcavecchia, Justin Leonard, Todd Hamilton and Henrik Stenson.

Stenson set an Open record score of 264 when winning in 2016.

Who is the reigning Open Championship champion?

Brian Harman won the 2022 Open at Royal Liverpool to claim the first major victory of his career.

The American dominated en route to a six-shot victory over Jason Day, Tom Kim, Jon Rahm and Sepp Straka at Hoylake.

Royal Portrush (2025) and Royal Birkdale (2026) have already been selected to host the next two opens.
