The tournament is second event of three in an Asian swing at the start of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and is being played on the Tanjong Course at the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore.
The HSBC Women’s World Championship was first held in 2008 at the Tanah Merah Country Club before moving to Sentosa.
The Sentosa first staged the prestigious tournament on the Serapong Course from 2013 to 2016 and the Tanjong Course from 2017 onwards.
Hannah Green is the reigning champion after winning the tournaments in 2024 in Singapore.
Other former winners include Lorena Ochoa, Jiyai Shin, Ai Miyazato, Karrie Webb, Angela Stanford, Stacy Lewis, Paula Creamer, Inbee Park, Jang Ha-na, Michelle Wie, Park Sung-hyu, Hyo-joo Kim and Jin-Young Ko.

The HSBC Women’s World Championship tournament carries a total prize fund of $2,400,000, up from the $1,800,000 USD paid out in 2023.
