It was the perfect start to the 2025 LPGA Tour season for Kim, who sealed a two-shot victory in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona Golf Club in Florida.
The South Korean held off a fast-finishing world number one Nelly Korda as her tournament total of 20-under par was enough for victory in the first event of 2025.
Kim’s first LPGA Tour win came at the highest level in 2020 when she won the delayed US Women’s Open, while she had to wait until the 2024 Lotte Championship in November for her second title.
She is also a three time champion on the LPGA of Korea Tour, winning the 2018 OK! Savings Bank Pak Se-ri Invitational, the 2019 MY Munyoung Queens Park Championship and 2022 Creas F&C KLPGA Championship.
