Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max Driver Specs & Design

The AI Smoke Max replaces the Paradym Max as the standard model of the new range with forgiveness and distance the key benefit of this driver.

Jailbreak Technology, the strong and stable feature for stability behind the face, has been replaced by a new AI design known as Smart Face.

Callaway’s latest development has resulted in multiple sweet spots across the face to provide maximum forgiveness and ball speed regardless of where you strike the ball from.

Also with the most forgiving shape in the series, the Max comes with the promise of providing up to 19 yards of shot shape correction according to Callaway’s research.

Other design changes include a refined Carbon Chassis with the crown, which has a smoke effect that is on brand with the name, up to 15% lighter than the Paradym.

As a result, Callaway have moved weight towards the perimeter to add forgiveness and also help increase the launch angle and bring spin levels off the face too.

The Max is available in 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with two degrees of adjustability both up and down. There is also a sliding rear weight in this model offers neutral, draw or face settings.

Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max D Driver Specs & Design

The Max D model is the draw bias version of this series and is designed a cure to natural fade or slice ball shapes.

It is more forgiving than the Max having been designed with a stretched back clubhead shape for the highest launch angle of any of the four models.

The Max D has a high MOI as a result of the slightly different shape and produces mid-to-low spin levels off the new AI Smart Face with multiple sweet spots.

Callaway’s new face technology allows for ball speed to be retained regardless of where you strike on the face, particularly in this model which suits players with variable shot patterns.

Another key difference between the Max vs Max D is that this driver has a fixed 5g rear weight rather than the sliding weight, and also sits with a slightly less upright lie angle.

The Max D is available in 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees with two degrees of adjustability both up and down.

Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max Fast Driver Specs & Design

The AI Smoke Max Fast driver is the new addition into the 2024 release with this lightweight option designed to help generate maximum swing speed.

It is non-adjustable with a fixed hosel and weight, giving a unfussy setup for golfers with slow swings and the ability to increase speeds through the air.

It is a similar concept to the Titleist TSR1 driver with as much weight removed as possible to create a lightweight option in the AI Smoke series.

The AI Smart Face is present to add multiple sweet spots to maintain those ball speeds for golfers who really need that bit of assistance.

The clubhead shape is very similar to the Max D with an elongated or stretched crown with weight moved to the perimeter for a high launch, mid-to-low spin levels and a slight draw bias flight.

Also like the Max D, it has a fixed rear weight as well as a bonded non-adjustable hosel and is sold in two loft options of 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees.

Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond Driver Specs & Design

The AI Smoke features the Triple Diamond model that is largely seen on tour with this driver those most workable of the quartet of options.

Suited to players with a consistent shot pattern, most of all low-handicap and elite level players, the Triple Diamond is suited to golfers with average-to-fast swing speeds and is low-launch, low-spin and incredibly long off the tee.

The new AI Smart Face with multiple sweet spots has helped Callaway extract even more distance gains compared to the Paradym Triple Diamond.

This model features two weights on the sole of the club head, which is similar in shape to the Max model, with 14g and 2g that are interchangeable to completely adjust the setup.

Place the 14g in the rear position for more forgiveness or in the front position for explosive ball speeds and minimum spin levels.

This version of the AI Smoke is available in 8 degrees, 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with two degrees of adjustability both up and down.

Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Driver Review: Are they any good?

Callaway have somehow manage to improve the already impressive Paradym range by coming up with something unique in the shape of multiple sweet spots in the AI Smoke range.

The promise of more distance and greater accuracy is delivered upon with the four drivers in the series all delivering the goods. The new Smart Face technology really is the business.

The only downside we could find was the Smoke pattern on the sole crown. It is part of the brand, but we’re not a big fan of the artwork. The price is also eye-watering, but you get what you pay for with this newcomer.

What Callaway says about the new AI Smoke drivers range:

“Real player data combined with revolutionary Ai technology and machine learning has helped create our new Ai Smart Face.

“The all-new Ai Smart Face optimizes driver performance using swing dynamics from thousands of real golfers.

“These swing dynamics, or Swing Code, consist of swing speed, club delivery, and face orientation just prior to impact. This promotes optimal launch conditions and tight downrange dispersion.

“With Ai Smart Face technology, micro deflections are activated upon impact, helping to optimize launch and spin on off-center AND all over the face.

“The 360 degree Carbon Chassis has been refined to promote increased weight distribution. By adding an internal titanium support structure, the Carbon Chassis in now 15% lighter. This mass is redistributed into the head to improve launch conditions and add forgiveness.”
