Kirk shot 29-under par at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii to win the traditional PGA Tour season opener by a shot from Sahith Theegala.

Kirk was consistent in his first start of the year, firing round of 67, 65, 66 and 65 to win the The Sentry Tournament of Champions for the first time.

It was Kirk’s sixth PGA Tour win having previously lifted the titles at the 2011 Viking Classic, 2013 McGladrey Classic, 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship and 2015 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

He endured a near eight-year drought before winning again in the 2023 Honda Classic in February 2023.

The Sentry victory saw Kirk move from 52nd in the Official World Golf Rankings to 25th.
