Honma TW747 Driver Review

The Honma TW747 driver was released at the end of 2018 and blends cutting edge technology and design.

The driver, one of the clubs the Japanese manufacturer hopes can help it make a mark across the globe, is part of a brand new TWorld 747 ranges which also includes fairway woods, irons and wedges.

The TW747 driver will be used by new Honma ambassador Justin Rose, who has signed a 10-year deal with the manufacturer as the world number two switches from TaylorMade.

What Honma say about the TW747 Driver:

The new TWorld747 series is truly a world-first, which combines distance innovation and supreme craftsmanship,” said Alejandro Sanchez, General Manager of Honma Golf Europe.

The non-rotating spine system in the driver is brand-new technology and the distance benefits will be obvious from the first swing.

“The new TWorld747 range means golfers can now experience the luxury artistry and premium performance that Honma Golf has to offer, at an affordable price.

We wanted to push the innovation boundaries further and provide golfers of all abilities with a club range that will truly improve their distances and maintain a superior aesthetic.

Honma TW747 Driver Specs & Design

The TW747 driver from Honma comes in two models, the 455 and 460 with the focus of both being to provide “Real Distance”.

The TWorld 747 driver is being described as having the world’s lightest carbon crown. The sole of the clubhead, meanwhile, is a tungsten construction and helps lower the centre of gravity.

The combined design elements, coupled with the new 4 Fang Technology which sees four metal studs placed strategically in the face to strengthen it, help produce the highest ball speeds and longest distance Honma has ever offered.

The TW747 comes with an adjustable hosel that can change loft, lie and face angle without changing the position of the shaft itself. The ground-breaking Proprietary Adjustability System is one of the key design technology features of the driver.

Verdict: Is the Honma TW747 driver any good?

Honma is name that some golfers won’t be too familiar with, but the capture of Justin Rose will really help thrust the brand into the limelight in 2019 and beyond.

The Honma TW747 driver will be one of the key products in helping achieving more of a global footprint.

The TW747 is as adjustable as things come and golfers will look just how flexible it is with loft, lie and face angle all options to change to get the setup perfect for your needs.

The two models give you different options. The 455 is smaller in size, but comes with a weight system to help produce higher ball speeds and is the one for golfers seeking to extract more distance. The 460 model is slightly larger, more forgiving and the weights in this model are interchangeable depending on shot shape.

At a very competitive price in the drivers sector, the TW747 is worth considering as a 2019 option to add to the bag. If Rose produces the goods, expect them to start flying off the shelves.
