Kurt Kitayama: What’s In The Bag

Kurt Kitayama Bag

Kurt Kitayama secured his maiden PGA Tour victory when winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March 2023. A look at Kurt Kitayama: What’s In The Bag.

Kitayama, who had narrowly been beaten by a shot by Rory McIlroy in the CJ Cup in October, turned the tables with a one-shot victory of his own in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

American Kitayama parred the last hole at Bay Hill to finish on nine-under par, one clear of McIlroy and Harris English, to claim his first PGA Tour success.

Kitayama’s first professional career win came in 2018 when he landed the title at the PGM Darulaman Championship on the Asian Development Tour.

He followed that by recording two wins on the DP World Tour in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in December 2018 and the Oman Open three months later in March 2019.

Victory in the Arnold Palmer Invitational saw Kitayama jump up to 19th from 46th in the current Official World Golf Rankings.
