Kurt Kitayama ended a 28-month drought when winning the title at the 3M Open in July 2025. A look at Kurt Kitayama: What’s In The Bag.
Kitayama hadn’t won since landing his maiden PGA Tour victory in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March 2023, but the American returned to the winners’ circle at TPC Twin Cities.
At the 2025 3M Open, Kitayama finished on 23-under par for the week to record a one shot victory over Sam Stevens – the same margin he had won the API by two years earlier.
Kitayama’s first professional career win came in 2018 when he landed the title at the PGM Darulaman Championship on the Asian Development Tour.
He followed that by recording two wins on the DP World Tour in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in December 2018 and the Oman Open three months later in March 2019.
