PXG Xtreme Golf Balls Design & Features

As you might expect, PXG are entering the golf ball sector with a premium product with the Xtreme sitting in the more advanced area of the market.

The ball has been designed to deliver the perfect blend of long distances, more accuracy and provide the greenside spin and control that golf are searching for.

A three-piece construction, the Xtreme balls are true to their United States heritage with each of those layers colours red, blue and white.

There is a high coefficient of restitution (C.O.R.) polybutadiene core to unleash high ball speeds, and a firm ionomer mantle that works in harmony with it.

The outer cover is a soft urethane cover, featuring a 338-dimple pattern, that has been created to generate the spin and control on the greens.

The design of the Xtreme balls produces a penetration ball flight from distance and a high trajectory for short game play. Each ball also features a dominant alignment aid to help hole more putts.

Verdict: Are PXG Xtreme Golf Balls any good?

It has been a long time coming for PXG to enter the golf ball space and the Xtreme has plenty of performance benefits.

It is a high-quality ball that has similar benefits to the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x, just with a cheaper price point. Therefore it will appeal to plenty of golfers.

There are a lot of similarities with the Kirkland Signature ball, the Costco model that also pitches itself as a value alternative to Pro V1s. It might well be that PXG have teamed up with the manufacturers of the Kirkland Signature.
