TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rescues Review

TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rescue

The TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rescues are one of two models in the new hybrids range for 2022. How do they perform and how do they compare?

Part of the new Stealth family of drivers, woods and irons, the Plus rescues replace the SIM 2 and SIM 2 Max hybrids as the number one utility clubs from TaylorMade.

Featuring a redesigned V Steel design, a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, Twist Face and a Steel C300 face, the Plus rescues offer workability with a stunning amount of forgiveness.

What TaylorMade say about the Stealth Plus rescues:

“Engineered to complement the performance of Stealth fairways, the new Stealth Plus Rescue was designed to deliver the distance and forgiveness of a hybrid with the workability and control of an iron.

“The Stealth Plus+ Rescue is a shot makers dream. A high-toe profile and compact overall footprint make it easier to control trajectory and shot shape, while maintaining added forgiveness compared to long irons.

“The ultra-strong C300 Steel face delivers powerful ball speed and is paired with Twist Face, the corrective face curvature designed to give everyone straighter shots on mis-hits.

“A redesigned V Steel sole positions weight low in the club to encourage optimal launch properties and enhances turf interaction to make this club a weapon from any lie. The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket provides optimal forgiveness on shots hit low on the face.”

TaylorMade Stealth Plus Rescue Design & Features

The Stealth Plus hybrids are aimed at the better player with a high-toe profile making them a shot makers perfect choice compared the Stealth rescues.

TaylorMade Stealth Plus Hybrid

The Plus model is more compact than the Stealth, providing a more consistent trajectory, helping master shot shape and produced the same short of forgiveness.

The redesigned V Steel sole has shifted weight low to produce an optimal launch angle from the Plus hybrids, while the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket provides the forgiveness on strikes low on the face.

The ball speeds produced by the ultra-strong C300 Steel face are impressive, while there is the now standard TaylorMade Twist Face Technology for maximum distance with even off-centre strikes.

The Stealth Plus rescues are available in 2-hybrid (17 degrees), 3-hybrid (19.5 degrees) and 4-hybrid (22 degrees). Each rescue is adjustable by plus or minus 1.5 degrees.

Verdict: Are TaylorMade Stealth Plus rescues any good?

The Stealth Plus rescues are eye-catching, impressive performers but are best suited to lower handicap golfers who shape shots and want workability from their hybrids.

The Stealth vs Stealth Plus Rescues is largely down to ability with the larger clubhead of the Stealth more forgiving.

The Plus model is much more compact, but the performance is seriously good from just about any lie on the course. Expect to hit it straight and find more greens from distance.
