TaylorMade Stealth Rescues Review (SIM 2 Replacement)

TaylorMade Stealth Rescue

The new TaylorMade Stealth Rescues are one of two models of the hybrids. How good are the 2022 additions?

Part of the new Stealth family of drivers, woods and irons, the rescues feature the Stealth and Stealth Plus and replace the SIM 2 and SIM 2 Max hybrids as the number one utility clubs from TaylorMade.

Featuring a redesigned V Steel design and carbon DNA, the Stealth rescues are more forgiving than in any previous model and boast a higher launch for maximum distance.

What TaylorMade say about the Stealth rescues:

“The new carbon crown construction of the Stealth Rescue allows for the relocation of 7 grams, transferring it lower in the head to better position CG for easy launch, optimal forgiveness, and better stability through impact.

“An ultra-heavy V Steel sole positions weight low in the club to encourage high launch and enhanced turf interaction, making this club a weapon from any lie. Get the yardage, attack the pin.”

TaylorMade Stealth Rescue Design & Features

TaylorMade have focused on weight saving in the Stealth rescues, and the end result is like nothing that has gone before.

The use a brand new carbon construction across the Stealth range means a total of 7g has been saved in the Stealth rescue compared to previous models and increases the MOI by 15% compared to the SIM 2 Max rescues.

TaylorMade Stealth Hybrids

As a result, weight has been shifted lower in the head of the hybrids to improve the CG and produce a higher ball flight, more stability in ball striking and increased forgiveness.

That high trajectory is partly achieved by an ultra-heavy V steel sole, while also providing improved turf interaction.

The hybrids have a high strength C300 steel Twist Face for improved ball speeds, even from mis-hits from across the face, while the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket all maximises distance from the tee, fairway or roughs.

The Stealth rescues are available in 3-hybrid (19 degrees), 4-hybrid (22 degrees), 5-hybrid (25 degrees), 6-hybrid (28 degrees) and 7-hybrid (31 degrees). They are non-adjustable.

Verdict: Are the TaylorMade Stealth Rescues any good?

The Stealth rescues deliver the goods with added distance, more forgiveness and improved ball speeds from the new model.

You can expect a higher launching trajectory than the SIM 2 Max hybrids offered, allowing you to attack those pins from distance with confidence of holding greens.

The rescues are most forgiving on low strikes than any of TaylorMade’s previous hybrids and the consistency in distance you get from the Stealths are impressive.
