Nick Taylor landed his fifth PGA Tour victory when claiming the title at the Sony Open in Hawaii in January 2025. A look at Nick Taylor: What’s In The Bag.
Eleven months since winning the 2024 Phoenix Open in a playoff in February 2024, Canada’s Taylor needed to do exactly the same to win the 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii.
In Hawaii, Taylor finished on 16-under par at Waialae Country Club before beating Nico Echavarria at the second extra hole to win the Sony Open.
In the Phoenix Open in 2024, Taylor shot a round of 60 in the opening round at TPC Scottsdale and was never headed throughout the week. He did need a play-off to beat Charley Hoffman.
Taylor’s other PGA Tour wins came in the 2014 in the Sanderson Farms Championship, 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach and 2023 RBC Canadian Open on home soil on the fourth extra hole of a play-off with Tommy Fleetwood.
Taylor became the first Canadian winner of the event since 1954.
