The Irish Open is the latest event of the 2024 DP World Tour season and is one of the richest events in terms of prize money outside of the Rolex Series.
The Irish Open, which has a new sponsor for 2024 in Amgen, was first held in 1927 first joined the European Tour in 1975.
The tournament returns to Royal County Down in Northern Ireland have previously been staged at the venue four previous times 1928, 1935, 1939 and 2015.
The Irish Open heads to Northern Ireland from The K Club in County Kildare in Republic of Ireland, where it was held in 2023 and won by Vincent Norrman.
Other venues to have staged the event include Portmarnock, Royal Portrush, Royal Dublin, Cork, Malone, Belvoir Park, Woodbrook, Killarney, Mount Juliet, Druids Glen, Ballybunion, Fota Island Resort, County Louth, Carton House, Adare Manor, Ballyliffin, Lahinch and Galgorm Castle.
Former winners of the Irish Open include Ben Crenshaw, Mark James, Sam Torrance, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam, Jose Maria Olazabal, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Sergio García, Thomas Bjorn, Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Paul Casey, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Adrian Meronk.

The Irish Open golf will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at Royal County Down in Newcastle, Northern Ireland. There is a cut at the 36-hole stage.

The tournament carries a prize fund of $6,000,000.
