Returning to the scene of his very first win, McIlroy bounced back to form with a one-shot victory over Abraham Ancer in the Wells Fargo.

McIlroy’s three-under par final round saw him finish on 10-under par for the week at Quail Hollow. Ancer was a shot adrift after a closing five-under, with Viktor Hovland and Kevin Mitchell third on eight-under.

It was McIlroy’s 19th PGA Tour win and his first in more than a year-and-a-half.

McIlroy signed a new multi-year agreement to remain a TaylorMade golfer in May 2022 and has an updated back for the rest of the season.
