Callaway Chrome Soft X LS Golf Balls Review (LOW Spin Model)

Callaway Chrome Soft X LS

The Callaway Chrome Soft X LS golf ball is the latest model in the popular range and new for 2021. How does it differ from other Chrome Soft options?

Joining the Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X, the Chrome Soft X LS is a low spin model designed for maximum distance.

The 4-piece construction X LS version takes the distance offered by the X model and combines it will a straight ball flight to help gain extra yards off the tee.

Marc Leishman, Akshay Bhatia, Wesley Bryan, Danny Willett and Jordan Smith are all using the Chrome Soft X LS on tour.

What Callaway say about the Chrome Soft X LS ball:

“It’s designed for maximum distance from a lower spin profile, and features all of the fast ball speed characteristics from the Company’s popular, Tour-proven Chrome Soft X.

“This new golf ball is especially suited for better players who want to ‘bomb it’ off the tee, with a tremendous combination of long distance and a straight ball flight from their longer clubs.

“It’s a 4-piece, single core construction that’s engineered to increase speed through a SoftFast Core, a Dual Mantle System, and a refined urethane cover.

“The high-speed core design is significantly larger to create more distance through the bag, and it works with the mantle system to deliver high resilience and speed.

“Chrome Soft X LS also promotes maximum greenside control from the thin proprietary urethane cover for high spin, low launch and excellent feel in your scoring clubs.”

Callaway Chrome Soft X LS Golf Ball Design & Features

The Chrome Soft X LS has been designed to provide added distance off the tee, and is a high-launch, low-spin ball.

Callaway are targeting the X LS model at low handicap golfers looking for a straighter ball flight and to maximise yardage off the tee and from fairways.

This ball is firm, but still offers spin on short distance shots and plenty of playability to attack pins.

The X LS is a 4-piece construction with a high speed core design generating more ball speed along with a soft inner mantle and firm outer mantle producing speed and resilience.

The combination of the three layers is behind the gains in distance, along with the urethane cover which features an aero pattern almost identical to the Chrome Soft X.
