Dean Burmester claimed his second LIV Golf tour victory when landing the title at LIV Golf Chicago in August 2025. A look at Dean Burmester: What’s In The Bag.
Just like her had done when winning LIV Golf Miami in April 2024, Burmester needed a play-off to claim the title at the LIV Golf Chicago.
The South African finished on nine-under par along with Jon Rahm and Josele Ballester before defeating the Spanish duo with a birdie at the first extra hole at Bolingbroke Golf Club.
Burmester’s previous win came in the LIV Golf Miami during the 2024 season for what was his first on the tour.
He ended 2023 with back-to-back wins in his homeland when triumphing in the Joburg Open and South African Open on the DP World Tour.
The South African’s other two DP World Tour wins came in the 2017 Tshwane Open and Tenerife Open in 2021 before he opted to make the switch to LIV Golf.
Bermester has also won on the Sunshine Tour nine times, including the Tshwane Open and Joburg Open which were co-sanctioned events.
His other victories came in the 2013 Polokwane Classic, 2014 Sun City Challenge, 2015 Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open, 2015 Lombard Insurance Classic, 2015 Sun Windmill Challenge, 2015 Vodacom Origins of Golf at Koro Creek and 2021 PGA Championship.
