Despite carding a final round of even par, Elvira held on for a one-shot victory over home favourite Thomas Pieters in the Soudal Open in Belgium.

Spaniard Elvira finished on 18-under par with his four-shot lead prior to the final round allowing him to hang on for victory. The success saw him move up to 132nd in the Official Golf Rankings.

Elvira’s first DP World Tour win came in 2021 when he landed the Cazoo Open following a play-off with Justin Harding.

He also has four Challenge Tour wins following victories in the 2013 Foshan Open, 2015 Challenge de Madrid,2015 Kärnten Golf Open and 2015 Rolex Trophy.
