Patrick Cantlay has been ruled out of the 2024 John Deere Classic after picking up an injury in preparation for the PGA Tour event.
Cantlay was set to play in the event at TPC Deere Run in Illinois for the first time in his career, but an unspecific injury picked up in training has ruled him out.
Cantlay was favourite to win the title in what was due to be his debut in the 2024 John Deere Classic.
His place in the field for the John Deere Classic has been taken by Russell Knox, who was the first alternative.
Cantlay’s absence was revealed by the PGA Tour Communications, who tweeted: “Patrick Cantlay is a WD from the John Deere Classic and is replaced in the field by Russell Knox.”
The world number eight in the Official Golf Rankings is still chasing his first win of the 2024 season.
Reasons Patrick Cantlay Is Ruled Out Of The John Deere Classic
