Thorbjorn Olesen: What’s In The Bag

Thorbjorn Olesen What's In The Bag

Thorbjorn Olesen claimed his first victory of 2024 when winning the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in January 2024. A look at Thorbjorn Olesen: What’s In The Bag.

Eleven months after claiming his previous victory, Olesen brought up his eighth DP World Tour victory and 15th professional success as he landed the title in the 2024 Ras Al Khaimah Championship.

It was a dominant performance from Olesen as his 27-under total at Al Hamra Golf Club earned him a six-shot victory over fellow Dane Rasmus Hojgaard.

On the European Tour, Olesen won the 2012 Sicilian Open, 2014 ISPS Handa Perth International, 2015 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, 2016 Turkish Airlines Open and 2018 Italian Open.

Having been off the course for more than two years due to an investigation into allegations made against him, Olesen returned to the DP World Tour in 2022 and won the British Masters at the Belfry in May.

Olesen’s only win of 2023 came in the Thailand Classic at Amata Spring Country Club in Bangkok with a dominant four shot victory in the DP World Tour event.

Olesen, formerly a Nike player but now with TaylorMade, won four times on the Nordic Golf League Tour between 2008 and 2009 and was also victorious in 2010 The Princess on the Challenge Tour.

Olesen also won both the 2016 ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf with Soren Kjeldsen and 2017 GolfSixes with Lucas Bjerregaard.

The win in UAE moved Olesen from 85th to 57th in the World Golf Rankings.
