Thorbjorn Olesen claimed his first victory since returning to competitive golf when winning the British Masters in May 2022. A look at Thorbjorn Olesen: What’s In The Bag.
Having been off the course for more than two years due to an investigation into allegations made against him, the Dane has returned to the DP World Tour this year.
He marked that return to action with a hard-fought victory in the British Masters at the Belfry, winning by a shot from Sebastian Soderberg.
Olesen, formerly a Nike player but now with TaylorMade, ended on 10-under par after a closing round of one-over par, with an eagle-birdie finish securing him a dramatic victory.
It was Olesen’s 13th professional win and his sixth DP World Tour success having previously won the 2012 Sicilian Open, 2014 ISPS Handa Perth International, 2015 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, 2016 Turkish Airlines Open and 2018 Italian Open.
He won four times on the Nordic Golf League Tour between 2008 and 2009 and was also victorious in 2010 The Princess on the Challenge Tour.
More recently, Olesen also won both the 2016 ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf with Soren Kjeldsen and 2017 GolfSixes with Lucas Bjerregaard.
