Titleist TSR4 Driver Review (REDUCE Spin Levels)

Titleist TSR4 Driver

The Titleist TSR4 driver is one of four new models for 2022 and has been designed to offer two ways to reduce spin levels off the tee.

The TSR series has four drivers and features the TSR1, TSR2, TSR3 and TSR4 with a new head shape, greater speed off the club face, more distance and the promise of amazing forgiveness.

The TSR4 driver is smaller than the other two options with a 430cc club head, has two different spin reduction settings and features the new Multi-Plateau VFT face technology for improved ball striking.

What Titleist says about the TSR4 driver:

“From new face technologies to CG improvements and aerodynamic refinements, the new TSR drivers take everything that made TSi the most played driver on Tour and pack even more performance into every head.

“If excess spin is the enemy, Titleist TSR4 Driver is the answer. It offers two different spin reduction settings, improved aerodynamics and our new Multi-Plateau VFT face construction – all housed in a compact, 430cc player-preferred shape.

“TSR4 provides both front and back weighting options to allow even more players to experiment with gaining distance through lower spin.

“The forward setting produces maximum spin reduction, while the back is more moderate – creating more of a TSR3.5 performance profile.”

Titleist TSR4 Driver Design & Features

The TSR4 driver is the smallest of the drivers in terms of head shape with this model having a refined 430cc clubhead in a more compact look and feel than the TSR2 and TSR3.

The driver is all about low spin and reducing excessive spin in your game, notably offering two different spin reduction and CG settings to help eradicate the bad parts of your game from the tee.

The TSR4 has what Titleist call “fore and aft weighting options”. They allow experimentation to help produce lower spin with the forward setting offering a maximum spin reduction, and the aft (more back) a moderate reduction.

Aerodynamics have been improved from the TSi4 model, while the key design addition is the same Multi-Plateau VFT face construction used in the TSR2 driver.

This face technology has not only improved the stability of the driver, but also created additional ball speed from across the entire face regardless of the hitting zone.

The TSR4 is available in 8 degrees, 9 degrees and 10 degrees with the SureFit hosel allowing for plenty of adjustability.

Verdict: Is the Titleist TSR4 driver any good?

The TSR4 driver is the perfect option of the TSR range if you struggle to contain spin levels off the tee, be that with a fade or slice or by ballooning shots high in the air.

The cleverly thought of spin reduction settings give you the opportunity to personalise the driver to your own needs to help eliminate your bad shot.
