Wilson Staff Model 2024 golf balls have been released with the latest version of the premium four-piece ball rolling off the production line. Are they any good?

The Staff Model was last released in 2023, but Wilson Golf haven’t wasted any time in giving us another upgrade for 2024.

That’s because it now has a sister version with the Wilson Staff Model X ball launched as a slightly firmer option, following a theme well trodden by the likes of Titleist, TaylorMade, Srixon and Callaway.

What are the changes to the new Wilson balls? How do they perform and how do the Staff Model vs Staff Model X ball rate?

Wilson Staff Model Golf Balls Design & Features

The Staff Model is a tried and test option from Wilson and the tweaks to the latest version are subtle rather than revolutionary.

The 2024 version is a four-piece construction with a medium compression and designed to produce a piercing trajectory for maximum distance.

Wilson Staff Model 2024 Balls

The ball features a unique V-Cor Advanced core composition to generate fast ball speeds, particularly off the tee, and that translates into distance gains compared to the 2023 model.

There is plenty of short game assistance too with a thin urethane outer providing a good amount of spin on approach play and shots from around the greens.

The cover is designed with Wilson’s 3SIX2 technology of 362 dimples for an all-round aerodynamic package.

There is a nice touch with the return of the Wilson badge on the ball, which also features an improved alignment aid line for help on the greens.

Wilson Staff Model Golf Balls Review: Is the 2024 ball any good?

The Wilson Staff Model has always been a slightly underrated performer against the likes of Titleist, TaylorMade and Callaway, but it has also been impressive.

The tweaks to the 2024 version of the ball are subtle but do have a nod back to a bygone era with the old school logo.

This remains the premium all-round ball in the range with distance gains to be had from the latest edition, but the sister ball the new Staff Model X is a better option if you are looking for a firmer ball with more short game spin.
