Titleist T200 Irons Review (NEW Design For 2023)

Titleist T200 Irons 2023

Titleist T200 irons have been given a makeover and re-released as one of four models in the new T-Series launched for 2023. What has been changed in the latest generation?

In what is a standard path for Titleist, the new irons were unveiled and put through a validation process before the details were officially revealed about the new design.

The T200s are joined by new versions of the T100 as well as completely new models in the shape of the T150 and T350.

We take a look at what has changed in the new T200 irons compared to the original design first brought out in 2019 and then updated in 2021. Plus detail the new technologies on offer.

What Titleist says about the new T200 irons:

“With the new T200, distance has never felt so good. Built with a forged face, hollow-body construction and shaped by Tour technologies, it delivers incredible launch and forgiveness in a pure player’s design.

“The reengineered chassis creates a stiffer structure, while allowing the refined Max Impact Technology to fit tighter against the new dual taper forged face. This leads to better feel and performance across the entire surface

“For all that has changed, the Tour-inspired shape of T200 remains consistent. Players will still draw confidence from a distance iron that looks clean and has less offset, with an optimal blade length and topline thickness based on player feedback.

“Working with Tour Pros as well as the grind experts at Vokey Design, our engineers were able to further improve our Variable Bounce Sole by softening the trail edge to allow the club to flow faster through the turf, even after contact.

“By utilizing dense D18 tungsten and a 2000º aerospace brazing process, Titleist engineers can eliminate weld points and shift CG more precisely to optimise every club in the set – from fast, high launching long irons to accurate, forgiving short irons.”

Titleist T200 Irons Specs & Verdict

The T200 irons have been around for four years since being part of the original T Series launched in 2019, but Titleist have given them a makeover for 2023 with some new elements.

The original T200 model was designed to be more powerful and forgiving than the T100 and that hasn’t changed in the new release.

The T200s are a compact model with less offset than the T100s, an optimal blade length and redesigned topline thickness based on player feedback.

The key change is in a “reengineered chassis” with Titleist stiffening the structure of the multi-material club head to reposition weight and shift the CG.

The Max Impact Technology has also been refined for a better fit with the dual taper forged face, improving the feel from across the fast and maintaining ball speeds regardless of off-center strikes.

The Variable Bounce Sole design has been softened and smoothed along the trailing edge for better turf interaction from all types of lies.

Verdict: Are the new Titleist T200 irons any good?

The new T200 irons have been tweaked rather than re-designed with only minimal differences compared to the originals.

They remain compact and designed to be longer and more powerful than the T100s, but the clever alterations means even more performance from these irons.

The CG has been repositioned for improved launch and ball flight and the clubhead is now a better package with more forgiveness across the face. The differences are noticeable, but the performance benefit is.
