The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship golf switched from an opening season tournament to become part of the DP World Tour playoffs in 2024.
It remains the penultimate event of the 2025 DP World Tour calendar and features the top 70 players in the Race To Dubai standings as well as Europe’s 2025 Ryder Cup players.
The Abu Dhabi Championship was first staged in 2006 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, but has been held at Yas Links Golf Course in Abu Dhabi, UAE, since 2022.
Paul Waring is the defending champion after winning the tournament in 2024, but he isn’t among this year’s betting odds contenders.
Other former winners include Paul Casey, Martin Kaymer, Jamie Donaldson, Pablo Larrazabal, Rickie Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Lee Westwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Thomas Pieters and Victor Perez.
