Minjee Lee: What’s In The Bag?

Minjee Lee Bag

Minjee Lee won for the second time in as many months when landing victory in the BMW Ladies Championship in October 2023. A look at Minjee Lee: What’s In The Bag.

Lee won twice in three weeks in May and June 2022, capturing the Founders Cup before landing her second career major with victory in the US Women’s Open.

It was another 15 months before Lee won again with victory in the Kroger Queen City Championship in September 2023 and she followed up a month later in the BMW Ladies Championship.

The Australian beat Charley Hull in a play-off win the Kroger Queen, while in the BMW Ladies Championship she got the better of Alison Lee in a play-off in South Korea.

The success in the BMW Ladies Championship made it 13 career wins for Lee and it was her 10th on the LPGA Tour.

It followed success in the 2015 Kingsmill Championship, the 2016 Lotte Championship, 2016 Blue Bay LPGA, 2018 LPGA Volvik Championship, 2019 LA Open, 2021 Evian Championship, which was her first major, 2022 Founders Cup and 2022 US Women’s Open.

In the US Women’s Open, the Australian recorded a record-breaking 13-under par 54-hole total at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, and a level par final round was enough for a four-shot victory.

Lee has also won the Victorian Open twice, as an amateur in 2014 and again in 2018, and the 2020 Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic on the Ladies European Tour.

The former world number one had dropped down to 13th in the Women’s Rolex Rankings but was seventh in the world before her BMW Ladies Championship win.
