Seed SD-15 Golf Balls Review (The Country Mile)

Seed SD-15 Golf Balls

Seed SD-15 golf balls are the company’s budget ball with the promise of long distance despite the incredibly cheap price.

The SD-15 is one of five balls from Seed, joining the SD-01, SD-X1, SD-02 and SD-05, and is known as The Country Mile.

This ball is a two-piece model from Seed and is the similar to Callaway’s Supersoft ball – just at a much cheaper price point.

We tested the latest SD-15 to see how they perform versus the other Seed models and just how long the Country Mile actually is.

Seed SD-15 Golf Ball Design & Features

The SD-15 ball is the firmest of Seed’s models, but actually has a medium to soft feel and is a real all-round performer.

It is similar in performance to Callaway’s Supersoft ball, generating impressive speeds off the face of players with slower golf club swings.

The Country Mile, as it is known, is durable with the promise of at least four or more rounds from each ball – providing you don’t fire it out of bounds of course.

This model is all about extracting maximum distance from your game with Seed describing it as “long”.

The two-piece low-compression ball has a 355-dimple pattern to produce a lower launch angle than other Seed balls for that added distance.

Seed SD-15 Golf Balls Review: Are they any good?

The SD-15 is Seed’s budget ball, offering impressive distance and performance at one of the cheapest rates on the market.

Costing just less than $2 or just over £1 a ball, they are a perfect option for beginners, higher-handicappers and golfers who tend to lose a lot of balls. You won’t break the bank with these.

They aren’t just cheap balls though, because they also add distance to your game, improve putting alignment with the Jack model and now come in a range of colours too. All-in-all they are well worth the money.

What Seed says about the SD-15 golf ball:

“A great ball for golfers who want distance, durability and feel. Unbeatable distance – this is the long lama.

“Low compression core for more feel. Surlyn cover for control.

“This rock won’t break your hands or the bank. And it’ll last (at least until you lose ’em.) So forget about dirty old lake balls, just grab a fresh Seed and go for it.

“The new Matte Red SD-15 and new Neon Green SD-15 coating provides an anti-glare effect with better visibility in the sky and on the ground, particularly on those grey winter days. It really is greenAF.”
