Ping Blueprint Irons Review (S & T Models New For 2024)

Ping Blueprint Irons Review

New Ping Blueprint irons have been launched for 2024 with two models – the S & T – introduced to cater for more golfers than ever before.

The forged irons range has traditionally been aimed to low-handicap and elite level golfers, but the introduction of the Blueprint S irons makes the series suited to more club golfers.

The S is is forged and forgiving cavity-back design, still in the form a blade, while the T remains the tour-level model for maximum workability and shot-shaping.

The two new irons give Ping a far greater reach and somewhat mirrors the offering of the TaylorMade P Series. How do the two Ping options differ and how do they perform? We take a look.

Ping Blueprint S Irons Review & Specs

With the introduction of the Blueprint S, Ping have opened up their premium forged irons range to a wider range of golfers as they boast a cavity-back style clubhead.

Crafted from a fully forge 8620 carbon steel head, the S model has the performance of a blade but significantly offers plenty of forgiveness from a cavity design.

Precision-Pocket Forging is used in the design and this patented process that creates a pocket in the cavity to save 10g of weight in the long irons and increase forgiveness to suit the needs of handicap golfers.

Ping Blueprint S Irons

Ping have been able to move weight in the clubhead, increase the MOI and add to the forgiveness on offer without affecting the workability from the new iron.

The S irons have a compact shape of a blade with a thin top line, minimal offset and also a shorter blade length for a classic look

The irons feature precision-milled grooves for optimal launch and spin with generous ball speeds generate and maximum distance achieved from the new release.

The Blueprint S also features a high-density toe screw and shaft tip weights for balanced weighting across the set.

The irons are available in 3-iron (19 degrees) to Pitching Wedge (45 degrees) and have identical lofts as the Blueprint T and i230 irons to allow for blended setups.

Ping Blueprint T Irons Review & Specs

The Blueprint T is Ping’s premium forged iron and is designed for tour-level and elite golfers who want the most workable of blades.

The muscle back iron is made from one single piece of 8620 carbon steel with a slightly shorter heel-to-face height, less offset and a shorter blade blade, and it is the trusted option of many of Ping’s tour stars.

The design is a compact blade with mass concentrated on the impact zone for the crispest of ball strikes and the ability to shape shots both ways.

Ping Blueprint T Irons

The precision-milled face and grooves deliver an ideal launch and trajectory, spin levels and control and feel on approach play.

The latest Blueprint T version delivers additional ball speed than any previous version and also has an enhanced sound off the club face, which features a hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish.

Like the S model, the T features a high-density toe screw and shaft tip weight for precise weighting with this combination also slightly increasing the MOI compared to previous Blueprint models.

Another tweak in the design of the latest model is a narrower sole to improve the turf interaction from all types of lie.

The irons are available in 3-iron (19 degrees) to Pitching Wedge (45 degrees) and have identical lofts as the Blueprint S and i230 irons to allow for blended setups.

Ping Blueprint Irons Review: Are they any good?

Ping have made a move many of their rivals have had a success with and introduction multiple versions of their premium forged irons.

The Blueprint now has two models and there is a lot of merit in the move. Golfers seeking more forgiveness, particularly in the long irons, now have an option with creating of the cavity-back like S version.

There’s a reason the likes of Louis Oosthuizen and Sahith Theegala are using setups of both S and T irons and that’s because of the additional forgiveness on offer.

Distance gains, more consistency and the ability to still work the ball, Ping have got it all for us in the combined Blueprint irons.
