The event is the second of the FedEx Cup series and the penultimate tournament of the 2025 PGA Tour season. It features to the top 50 on the season points list.
The BMW Championship moved from the North Course at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois to Colorado in 2024 when Castle Pines Golf Club staged the prestigious event.
It has a new home again for 2025 with Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, hosting the BMW Championship for the first time since 2021.
The tournament as we know it was first staged in 2007 and has also been staged at Cog Hill, Bellerive, Crooked Stick, Conway Farms, Cherry Hills, Aronimink, Medinah and Wilmington Country Club.
Prior to becoming the BMW Championship, the tournament was known as the Western Open and dates back to 1899.
Keegan Bradley is the reigning champion having won the event in 2024. He is among the favourites again in the BMW Championship betting odds.

The BMW Championship will be played over four rounds / 72 holes at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland.
The top 50 players on the FedEx Cup Standings take part, meaning there is no cut after the opening two rounds.

- Day 2 – Friday, August 15
- Day 3 – Saturday, August 16
- Day 4 – Sunday, August 17
The BMW Championship tournament carries a total prize fund of $20,000,000 USD.
