Viktor Hovland landed his first win in 15 months when securing the title at the Travelers Championship in June 2026. A look at Viktor Hovland: What’s In The Bag.
Hovland had to wait until a Monday finish to claim his first win since March 2025 as he beat Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at TPC River Highlands.
The pair had finished on 21-under after a dramatic end to the 2026 Travelers Championship, but had to return the following day for one playoff hole with Hovland birdied to take victory.
It was Hovland’s 12th career victory and his first since winning the Valspar Championship in early 2025.
His first PGA Tour win came in the Puerto Rico Open and Mayakoba Classic in 2020 before recording a dominant victory back in Mexico in the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in 2021.
The BMW International Open and Hero World Challenge titles were also secured in 2021 and he defended the latter title in 2022, a year he also won the the Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour.
In 2023, Hovland lifted the titles at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club and the BMW Championship and Tour Championship in successive weeks during the FedEx Playoffs.
In 2022, Hovland signed a multi-year agreement to stay with Ping and he has been a part of Europe’s Ryder Cup sides in 2021, 2023 and 2025.
