TaylorMade Stealth Plus Woods Review

TaylorMade Stealth Plus+ Woods

TaylorMade Stealth Plus woods are one of two models of the new fairways released for 2022. How do the Stealth Plus+ rate?

Part of the new Stealth family of drivers, hybrids and irons, the Stealth and Stealth Plus woods are the two options when it comes to the new fairways.

The Stealth Plus woods are smaller in profile than the Stealth woods and have an all-new 3D carbon crown and a newly refined V Steel sole in the most forgiving fairways yet.

What TaylorMade says about the Stealth Fairway Plus Woods:

“Every golf bag needs an old reliable. The club that sits patiently among its peers, waiting until its name is called. The club that can be counted on to deliver when the pressure is on and the margin for error is razor thin.

“Built from carbon DNA, the Stealth Plus fairway delivers precision playability and fast ball speeds using advanced multi-material construction.

TaylorMade Stealth Plus Woods Design & Features

The Stealth Plus fairway woods feature many of the same technologies as the Stealth woods, but have some notable differences.

The all-new 3D carbon crown and reengineered V Steel sole design form part of the Plus, as does the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket for consistent ball speeds and distance and from across the face.

But the big differences begin with the size of the clubhead with the Plus model smaller in profile at 175cc compared to the 190cc of the Stealth.

While the Stealth has a C300 steel face, the Plus boasts an ultra-thin Zatech Titanium face. It works in harmony with TaylorMade’s Twist Face Technology to produce straighter ball flights and eye catching distances.

The V Steel sole design in the Plus woods is another major change, with a heavy 80g weight ensuring maximum forgiveness without impacting the playability of these fairways.

The Stealth Plus fairways also have a new laser alignment system and etched pattern across the top of face to deliver improved aim and straighter ball striking as a result.

Verdict: Are the TaylorMade Stealth Plus Fairway Woods any good?

TaylorMade have taken the impressive SIM Max 2 fairway woods and extracted even more distance and forgiveness out the new Stealth Plus woods.

TaylorMade Stealth Plus Woods

The Plus woods have a smaller clubhead than the Stealth and will inspire less confidence for some golfers out of the two models.

But the heavy V Steel sole and the thin titanium face make this the better of the two models for us. The only negative is the price tag per iron with the Stealth no cheap purchase.
