Japanese star Saso outlasted the opposition at Lancaster Country Club to win the 2024 US Women’s Open by three shots.

As her rivals faltered around her, Saso finished on four-under par, three shots clear of compatriot Hinako Shibuno for her second victory in the major having also won in 2021.

Saso’s first US Women’s Open title came at Olympic Club in 2021 when she beat fellow Japanese star Nasa Hataoka in a play-off.

Saso is also a two-time LPGA of Japan Tour winner having been victorious in the NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament and Nitori Ladies Golf Tournament in 2020.

Prior to victory in the 2024 US Women’s Open, Saso was ranked 30th in World Rolex Rankings.
