Rose Zhang: What’s In The Bag

Rose Zhang What's In The Bag

Rose Zhang landed her second career victory on the LPGA when taking the title at the Cognizant Founders Cup in May 2024. A look at Rose Zhang: What’s In The Bag.

Zhang made stunning professional debut as she won the Mizuho Americas Open in June 2023, beating Jennifer Kupcho in a play-off on her LPGA Tour and professional debut.

Zhang made it two wins on tour as her final round of six-under par catapulted the American two shots clear of Madelene Sagstrom in the Cognizant Founders Cup.

Zhang was a staggering 15 shots clear of third placed Gabriela Ruffles with her victory earning her a career-high sixth of the Official Women’s Golf Rankings.

Already ranked the world number one female amateur, Zhang added the big Augusta National Women’s Amateur title to her list of wins as she triumphed in a play-off in March 2023.

Zhang had carded a final round of four-over par and was caught by Jenny Bae as the pair finished on nine-under overall. However Stamford college star Zhang composed herself and won at the second extra hole.

Among her previous victories are the 2016 AJGA – CJGT Junior at Yorba Linda, 2017 Junior PGA Championship and Junior America’s Cup and 2018 ANA Junior Inspiration, Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational and The PING Invitational.

Zhang also tasted success in the 2019 Toyota Junior World Cup, Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational and Rolex Tournament of Champions and 2020 US Women’s Amateur, Rolex Girls Junior Championship, The PING Invitational and Rolex Tournament of Champions.

She also won the 2021 US Girls’ Junior, Molly Collegiate Invitational, Windy City Collegiate Classic, Stanford Intercollegiate and individual title at the Spirit International Amateur Championship and the 2022 NCAA Championship.

Zhang made her Solheim Cup debut for the United States in 2023.
